Happy Waiting is a collection of reflections written during the first six months of pregnancy, between March and August 2025, weaving together thoughts, memories, and anticipations of motherhood that arise during this period —observing daily life as it remains unchanged, yet knowing it will never be the same.
Dominika Hadelová is the co-founder and editor of Matto magazine. Writing is like drawing for her—it allows her to observe and play with thoughts in a language shaped by others, as it is not her mother tongue.
Each copy includes a set of five hand-added images selected from twelve photographs taken by Dominika Hadelová in the summer of 2025. The images inside this publication vary from one book to another, no copy of the publication has an identical sequence of imagery.
